2025 Nucs for Sale
Busy Bee Farm Ltd (Hay Lakes, Alberta) will have nucs for sale for the 2025 season. These will consist of 5 frames of bees with 2 to 3 frames of brood minimum and a 2025 mated queen. Pick up will be around June 1st depending on weather and spring conditions. Our intention is to provide as early as possible. The following prices do not include the nuc box and screen:
- 1-10 nucs: $300.00 per nuc
- 11-100 nucs: $280.00 per nuc
- 101-800 nucs: $260.00 per nuc
- 801+nucs: $250 per nuc
An additional $100.00 deposit per nuc box + screen will be charged for any box used to transport the bees. All nuc boxes and equipment are to be returned within 2 weeks of pickup for full equipment deposit return.
For an additional $20.00, the nuc can be supplied in a Jester 5 frame nuc box which you keep.
To make an order, a non-refundable bee deposit of $50.00 per nuc is to be made by May 15, 2025. Balance of order plus equipment deposit(if needed) to be paid on pickup to complete purchase. Pickup locations to be at Busy Bee Farm Ltd. We are also available to help with transport if needed at a reasonable rate.

2025 Splits for Sale
Busy Bee Farm Ltd (Hay Lakes, Alberta) will have bees for sale between May 21 to June 10. We can work with commercial beekeepers to help recover their numbers and provide queen-less full box splits. I will provide a brood chamber with 9 frames of drawn comb. There will be some feed in these frames on each side and the rest open for a queen to lay up. We will raise three frames of brood over an excluder and let the bees come up into the split box and settle over the brood and existing comb. Our intention is to have three frames of mixed capped brood and larvae as well as a box of fresh bees covering at least 75% of the comb. We will need your lid. (needs to be telescopic) We will place splits on fully screened bottom boards that I will need to have returned immediately after placing split on your bottom board/hive location. You will need to install mated queen or queen-cell. We are also available to help with transport if needed at a reasonable rate. The price is $225.00 per queen-less split and orders are minimum 100 per order. We can make 500 per day depending on weather.
